Welcome (Updated May 10, 2018)
I am the Director of Academic Real Estate Programs at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) with our flagship Master of Science in Real Estate (MSERE), as well as our MBA and BBA Emphases in Real Estate. I am also an associate professor of real estate based in the Henry W. Bloch School of Management.

I established this website to extend my teaching, disseminate selected research, help advance the real estate discipline, and provide a service to the broader community of learners and doers. Alteryx 2018 Excellence Award Submission
Over the past several years we have been placing more emphasis on design thinking, data visualization, and spatial/predictive analytics to help address complex urban real estate issues. As part of those efforts we have used the "Alteryx for Good Program" to harness the power of big data analytics in our teaching, research, and service activities. We recently entered our a2V-Lb: Abandoned to Vibrant Land Bank Housing analytics into the 2018 Aleryx Excellence Awards competition. We encourage you to explore our submission to see some of the power of analytics. We also encourage other real estate academicians to consider using Alteryx as an integral part of their work and efforts to advance the discipline.

Guide to Real Estate Centers and Degree Programs
Real estate plays a critical role in society, serving the needs of current and future generations. As real estate problems society faces become more complex, specialized studies are necessary to prepare future industry leaders. The primary objective of the Real Estate Centers and Degree Programs webpage is to provide interested parties with an an overview of the location and types of real estate degree programs at universities in the United States. A secondary objective is to help promote members of the Real Estate Center, Director and Chairholders' Association (RECDCA) which I chair. Space Matters: Commentary
Over the past year or so I have been working on several spatial and spatial-temporal projects to explore a range of real estate-related research projects. The common thread is that space matters; that real estate has dual space-time, money-time dimensions that should be considered in decision-making. To learn how to use these resources or create these visualizations: enroll in our MSERE program at UMKC; take courses as a visiting graduate student; or, join the Code for KC Brigade at it's weekly meetings and connect with community-minded coders and advocates.
